aroo, aroo

Here's the photo recap form the Spartan Race in Tuxedo Ridge from last weekend. It was 90 degrees, humid, and early on a Saturday. It was miserable, but we finished. I wondered why I signed up for it multiple times before, during, and after. But nothing feels better than finishing, and getting 70th in your age-group! James wore a GoPro, so I'm assuming there will eventually be an embarrassing video to accompany over 500 embarrassing pictures from the event. I've spared you with a cool dozen...
the "before" shot...

james and mom simultaneously climb up the ropes (in green)

exactly where some training would have been put into good use

so   fucking   spent

a pretty good single-shot wrap up of how i felt the race went

barbed wire & mudd. james & the go-pro.
hot mud and rocks on a ninety-degree day

casually crossing the finish line. give me the medal.

mom's face says it all...

all of our faces say it all. the "after" photo. so glad that's over.

Hope you got a good laugh! Have you ever done one of these obstacle-course races?

spartans @ citi

Out of almost pure curiosity my mom and I signed up for the Spartan Race at Citi Field. We had no idea how they would do it in a venue like this, especially during baseball season. The race ended up not being extremely difficult, or extremely dirty. But there were stairs. Lots and lots of stairs. Here's the photo-recap of us, having a ball...

the "before" picture
waving and carrying 25 lb bags.
laughing and joking around...
spotted conor...
posed for a picture before the end of the race
off to the finish line
post-race in the stands
from the very top of the stadium - to the dug out
a cargo net in the outfield
so   many   stairs

We finished!
A very cool experience, especially if you're a fan of the home team!
